In certain circumstances, consumers may report the convection element powered on following a power outage. This potential cause does not pose a safety risk to the consumer because only the oven’s heating elements are susceptible to unintended activation and the oven is protected from overheating per UL 858. The exposed elements on the cooktop are controlled on a separate circuit not impacted by this issue.
