Accessory Ice Maker Kit Available For R600a models

There will be a manufacturing change to some Whirlpool refrigeration products which will occur in September and October 2017. This change will impact Side by Side and Top Mount refrigerators whereby the copper heat exchange will be replaced by an aluminum one. This change means that almost any sealed system failure on these models will require Lokring tools and parts to be able to complete the service repair.

In certain circumstances, consumers may experience warmer than usual temperatures in the refrigerator section, due to ice accumulation on the evaporator.

It is possible that some customers may experience a discoloration or delamination of the silver user interface (HMI). (This does not affect other colors).

It is possible that consumers may experience a build up of frozen water outside of the ice maker, fill tube, fill cup, and in the ice bin that may reduce ice production

It is possible that some consumers may experience a poor or no cooling situation, noisy evaporator fan or ice build up in the bottom of the freezer compartment.

The ice maker accessory kits for the R600a refrigerant models are temporarily unavailable. Accessory Ice Maker kits available for the equivalent models with R134a refrigerant will not fit properly.

Customers may experience a high-pitch noise during ice maker operation.

In certain circumstances, consumers may experience warmer than usual temperatures in the refrigerator section, due to ice accumulation on the evaporator.

Some technicians find it difficult to replace the drier on bottom mount refrigerators because of the short length of cap tube available between the outlet of the filter/ drier and the cabinet.
